It is cloudy today. Really the first day we have not had the sun out. Had big breakfast in Compass Rose this AM to mark the weekend. Had Bob out for a limited version of his ship's tour also this morning.
Debbie worked out in the morning and missed the onboard sales pitch for black pearls in the Horizon Lounge at 10am. Clay went instead since they were having a drawing for a black pearl ($1000 value). Clay learned enough in the pitch that he does not need any black pearls for himself, but it is not clear whether Debbie needs any or not. They are having a BOGO promotion onboard where you buy one and get one of equal or lesser value free.
At 11:45 there was a Code Blue (poolbar) broadcast over the intercom. There are likely to be others as the cruise continues due to the average passenger age onboard. Rumor has it that one person died on the FLL-LA leg. Nearly lunch time we may go to Compass Rose in case there is any residual action from the Code Blue in the area. Now, it is raining, so it is decided, Compass Rose.
At lunch in Compass Rose, we were seated at a window and the ship is really rocking and the stabilizers are out. (Which we learned they were not outyesterday, explaining a lot!) Anyway, CR is on deck 4 and we could see waves that had tops higher than our window! We have been basically sailing inside a cloud all day today. We are over a thousand miles from land in any direction, we should cross the equator tomorrow and we can't see more than a few hundred yards in any direction with this hot fog, the cabin is creaking and cracking; this is really creepy.
Clay saw a black bird today after his blackjack disaster. If he had seen it earlier, he may have skipped blackjack this afternoon and the disaster it was.
Debbie got herself banned from the aerobics room this evening by Jackie. At the end of the last class of the day, she was told she had to leave and she was not allowed back in until tomorrow. It was a joke but Debbie was shocked to be singled out since she had skipped all classes yesterday and skipped the most crowded class, morning stretch, today.
Malcolm Myers, a multi-time world cruiser living a few doors down from us, hosted a cocktail party for most of the ship in the Constellation Theater before dinner. There was a special song and dance performance given with food and drinks served. There was a large turnout. We met Allen and Donna from the LCT board there. We also spoke with astrophysicist lecturer, who Debbie had given blank CDs, and his wife, whom Debbie had met in exercise classes. Also spoke with the staff captain, Daniel Green, whom we dined with two nights before. Also, saw for the first time since LA, Tina and her husband Lou from the cruise critic board. They were jealous when they heard about our long limo.
We ate dinner in LaVeranda, and after dinner Debbie found the laundry room free and did two loads of laundry.
