It was nice on deck early in the morning as Clay did his deck walk. The ship only had a slight motion and the wind was moderate. During the day though, the seas got more choppy and by lunchtime, there was significant motion. The day in general was an uneventful day at sea. Debbie did exercise classes both in the morning and afternoon, and Clay sat through Roger's port talk on Bangkok. We spent part of the afternoon reading up on Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) where we should be tomorrow. The weather today was about 10 degrees warmer the yesterday in the mid 70's. Tomorrow, the temperature is predicted to be in the lower 90's so it should be hot and sunny.
There was a Mexican buffet on the pool deck for lunch and tonight was formal night with the Seven Seas Society reception before dinner. We were back in the cabin before 8:00 and for the first time in all the days we have been onboard, there was no Passages NewsLetter waiting for us. Mishiel said that they were not ready yet and would put it on the door when it was available.
Tomorrow starts a busy 5 day period for us. We do Saigon tomorrow, and then fly to Phnom Penh for one day the day after, and then fly to Siem Reap for a day , and then fly to Bangkok for a day and finally get back to the ship after that. We will keep good notes on what we see, but it will likely be after we get back to the ship before we post anything.
Our door bell rang about 8:30 and it was Mishiel. She had segment 3 World Cruise gifts as well as the newsletter. The gifts were a leather travel jewel box and a leather jewelry roll. We also had another envelope with our Bangkok trip information. We are staying in the Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok. In Phnom Penh, we are staying at the Raffles Hotel, and in Siem Reap, we are staying at the Sofitel.
In Freddy's noon time announcement, he said we would be anchoring at the mouth of the river leading to Saigon at about 7 pm this evening. Well, at about 8:45 pm, we dropped anchor in a bay about 50 miles down river from Saigon. The wind is blowing at about 50 km/h and the seas are choppy. It is 80F at 9:00 pm. It will be warm tomorrow in Saigon.
