Bouncy seas over night but not quite as bad as previous night. It is Saturday, so we plan to have breakfast in Compass Rose. We arrived at Cabo San Lucas around 8:30am ship time. The captain came on the loud speaker embarrassed that we should have set our clocks back an hour overnight, making it actually 7:30 am. So, we had an extra hour here. The last tender to the ship was set at 4:30pm, and we were on a 9:30am tender to shore to see the sights.

All the ships's tours here involved little boats, so we opted just to walk around the town to see what sights we could. After about a 10-minute tender ride, we got to shore and ran a gauntlet of people trying to sell you something, from sightseeing boat rides to silver to time shares. It took us about 5 minutes to walk out of their territory. Debbie had read about a city museum, so we headed toward the town square where this was located. The museum was closed, but they had a whale skeleton out front. The person at an information booth we asked about how to find this museum said it was a dinosaur skeleton, but it was a whale. Anyway, the museum was closed so seeing the dinosaur skeleton was a highlight. We visited a church built in the mid-1700's, Cabo Wabo Cantina and a new 3-story shopping mall some pricey stores and named restaurants like Ruth Chris'. Debbie wanted to see King Kong there since it probably won't still be a on a big screen in May when we get home, but it is a long movie and it did not start playing until afternoon at the 3 screens it was playing on in the mall.

We ate lunch in Pancho's on Hidalgo Street. It was good. Debbie had a tamale with a mole sauce. It was huge and came wrapped in a banana leaf instead of a corn husk. Clay had fish tacos. For dessert, Clay had an ice cream cone in a little ice cream shop around the corner. We walk around and purchased a couple of $6 t-shirts in town, and also ended up buying some pottery house numbers from the artisan market close to the ship dock. We also went into an upscale mall that had some pricey stores and named restaurants like Ruth Chris'. We also walked around the marina looking at a lot of very pricey yachts. Right out by our ship was a very large yacht (had a little helicopter on its stern-Debbie thought it might have been Paul Allen's yacht.) We made it back to the ship around 3pm, and were able to watch the sailaway from the top deck around 5pm. The captain took the ship very close to El Arco so we could easily see this stone arch at the point of the land jutting out in the bay.

There was a reception at 6:00pm given by Ngaire (our travel agent who is onboard for the FLL to LA segment) for another client of hers, Suzanne, who just boarded in Cabo San Lucas for a short 3-day cruise. We ate at the Compass Rose after the reception. The ship is still doing some rocking so we made it an early evening.
